The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards were created in 1995.  The program recognizes it's Honorees based solely on volunteer service.  Each year the program selects 102 State Honorees, two from each state and two from the District of Colombia.  Each Honoree receives $1,000, as well as a specially engraved silver medallion and an all expense paid trip to Washington, D.C.  The trip is great too because they get to see the capital as well as visit congressional representatives on Capitol Hill.
Also 10 of the Honorees are chosen as National Honorees.  They receive an additional $5000, a gold medallion, tropies and $5000 in grants from The Prudential Foundation for nonprofit charitable organizations of their choice.

This year they will also be having a live webcast on May 12th to announce the 10 National Honorees. Click here to find out more!

I will also be posting about the honorees this month so you can find out more about these wonderful kids. So be sure to check back to read all about them!
