A is for...

is for:

Adopt-A-Classroom is an organization that helps to connect teachers with partners in the community to help with funds to use to purchase supplies and other resources for their classrooms.  The program was founded by James Rosenberg to provide an easy way for members of the community to help teachers.

It works by letting a donor select a classroom to donate funds to, Adopt-A-Classroom then gives 100% of the donation for that classroom to the teacher in the form of online credits that the teacher can then use to purchase supplies for the classroom from network of affiliated vendors that have partnered with Adopt-A-Classroom. For more details click here to connect to their About Us page.

Interested in becoming a donor? Just go to their homepage and look up a classroom.  Want to help but not sure if you would be able to donate as much as a teacher might need?  Check out their Donation Page.
For every $1 donated Adopt-A-Classroom is able to help provide $12 in donations to teachers.

  1. This is an excellent blog idea. I love it. Adopt-a-Classroom is a great way to help out your community. I wonder if there's something like that in my country. :-)

  3. I love these types of charities. I have given in the past to a similar one, DonorsChoose but Adopt-a-Classroom sounds awesome too. Best wishes for the challenge.
